Our Family

We were introduced to the Beauceron breed when we were looking for a protective dog for our family and to work at our businesses. We were looking for a breed with natural protective instincts, high intelligence and confidence, eagerness to please, that could also be calm and gentle with our small children in our home. We found every trait we were hoping for along with majestic beauty in the Beauceron!

Our First Beauceron Story

Our beloved Zora, our first Beauceron, exceeded our expectations as a guardian and companion!! We believe she is an outstanding representative of the breed.  She is alert and serious when needed at work, has plenty of prey drive for sport, and is very friendly and affectionate in social settings.  She is an excellent running and hiking partner and will even jump off cliffs into the water with us at the lake!  She is very attentive to whoever is handling her and sensitive to emotions and body language.  She is our constant shadow, following us from room to room, and never strays from our family when off-leash.  She gets along very well with other animals of all sizes, is very tolerant of children and commotion, and is neither dominant nor reactive.

Zora earned her AKC Championship and Grand Champion titles in Conformation and was the #1 Ranked Harlequin Beauceron in 2016.  She has earned titles in AKC Obedience, Rally, Canine Good Citizen Advanced and Urban, and a Therapy Dog title.  She has also trained in French Ring Sport with Humberto Bobadilla to about the Brevet level.

Our Home

We are not a large "kennel" and we do not breed as a career.  We are a household in a suburban neighborhood, and our dogs all live inside with us as part of our family.

Our puppies are born in a private nursery area inside our home. Puppies spend age 4 through 8 weeks living in our kitchen where they learn to use the doggy door as a head start on potty training.  We focus a tremendous amount on building the confidence of our litters by exposing them to new people, noises, surfaces, and environments constantly, all while growing up in a family home environment.

Our home has been inspected and we have obtained our Breeders Permit through the City of Henderson Animal Control.

Permit # A15-000669

Our Values

Joie De Vie represents our pursuit of living life to the fullest with humility, kindness, integrity, gratitude, selflessness and self-discipline.  We strive to learn and improve ourselves daily.  We value strength of character, a positive attitude, and good communication skills above all else when selecting owners of our puppies.  We are devoted to modeling good sportsmanship and camaraderie and take great pride in our contribution to the breed population.

We own several local businesses and we homeschool our kids. We spend most of our leisure time together, as a family, wakeboarding on Lake Mead, RV camping, and training and showing our Beaucerons.  Our kids, neighbors, and local friends play a HUGE role in raising our litters and socializing them.  We have visitors almost every day and friends take our puppies and dogs out weekly to have new adventures and sleepovers.  We greatly value building lasting friendships and welcoming new owners into our community.

We honor, support, and prioritize members and families of law enforcement, military, and first responders!!
