Beaucerons for Southern California equestrian families

At home with the life you already love

Horses, dogs, children, and a life spent outdoors belong beautifully together. Our Beaucerons complement equestrian life. The majority of our dogs live peacefully amongst cats, chickens, ducks, cattle, horses, and young children. That everyday harmony is every bit as important to me as what they accomplish in competition.

I’m Angie Robertson, founder of Joie de Vie Beaucerons. My passion for continually raising the bar for structure and temperament is about the whole dog: beautiful, capable of high-level work, appropriately protective and discerning, and tender with the people and animals they share their lives with.

Capable when it matters. Calm at your feet.

A dog can have remarkable focus, intensity, and stamina and still be calm, tender, snuggly, and delightful to have beside you daily. I teach owners to condition calm, quiet, independence, neutrality, and self-management. Their capabilities are there for the appropriate times, while you have attention for parenting, work, house chores, horses, and the rest of your life.

Tell me your goals, and I’ll choose the puppy whose strongest attributes suit them. My evaluation follows development over time: structure, engagement, independence, resilience, problem-solving, and willingness to work with people. Read how I raise and evaluate puppies.

Accomplishments worth celebrating

At the 2026 WBA Journée in California, Tokai du Joie de Vie was awarded Best Overall Male, Tulum de la Plaine Royale Best Temperament, and Vaquero du Joie de Vie Best Open Male. I am so proud of these dogs and the people who develop their abilities.

Our dogs and owners also excel in conformation, protection, herding, tracking, Barn Hunt, obedience, Rally, dock diving, and coursing. Meet our working and performance teams · Review parent health records.

You belong to a community that builds each other up

You do not need to be an experienced competitor to belong here. Kindness, inclusion, good sportsmanship, and integrity matter. I want owners to feel comfortable asking for help, celebrate one another’s progress, and give future generations an example we can be proud of.

Your individual guidance by phone, text, and video is included throughout your dog’s life. We work through questions about development, training, nutrition, transition, and ear posting together. Hear from our owners · Explore the JDV partnership.
